MI-MAST: Wildlife Food Tracker is a citizen science program where YOU get to play an important role in the conservation of Michigan wildlife. Biologists need your help in understanding the cycles of production of wild fruit produced by trees and shrubs, also called mast. Mast crops are known to directly affect wildlife productivity and survival, and knowing more about wildlife food sources can help biologists make better management decisions. We need to collect mast information across the entire state of Michigan to fully understand their cycles and places like your backyard need to be included. With only a few minutes each year, your participation can make a big difference for Michigan wildlife!
